| Our pediatric/adolescent team is dedicated
to meeting the special needs of children from birth to age 18 with
developmental delays, brain injury, spinal cord injuries, multiple
trauma, amputation, neuropathies, cerebral palsy, spina bifida,
oncological disorders, muscular disorders, encephalitis/meningitis,
sensory motor integration dysfunction and communication disorders.
Pediatric Day Treatment Services
We facilitate a better transition from hospital to home for those
children with continuing therapy needs. This program acts as a
bridge for those children no longer requiring inpatient
hospitalization, but continue to require intensive therapy, and are
not yet physically or cognitively ready for outpatient, home-based
or school therapies.
Adolescent Day Treatment Program
Specifically designed to meet the needs of the adolescent with brain
injury or other life-long disability, this program focuses on
optimizing the child’s successful home and community integration. It
addresses factors that frequently interfere with success, such as
risky behaviors, educational performance, cognition, sub-optimal
community interaction with peers and adults and vocational planning.
Outpatient Rehabilitation Services
Outpatient appointments are scheduled on an individual basis and
a variety of options are available to serve each child’s or
adolescent’s needs. Options available are:
• Individual Therapy – one-on-one treatment with a
clinician
• Evaluation with Home Programming-individualized evaluation and a therapeutic program designed for parents to use at home. Follow-up visits are scheduled to update the program periodically.
