How You Can Help

It’s been said “it’s the little things in life that matter.” This is especially true for individuals with disabilities resulting from serious illness or injury. We specialize in helping children, youth and adults with disabilities relearn the “little things” that make a big difference in their quality of life.

As you consider which charitable organizations and causes to support this year, please consider supporting our efforts. Your gift will help us continue making the little things in life a big deal children and adults with disabilities.

The following are some specific ways you can make a difference in someone’s life.

• Designate your United Way Gift to our organization. Our Agency #675.
• Become one of our Circle of Friends with a direct donation.
• Remember us in your will and other estate plans.

What impact will my contribution make?

Private gifts help keep our organization strong and able to help individuals with disabilities regain their independence. Your support will help us address the basic activities of daily living for our patients such as walking, communicating, eating, dressing and driving to more complex issues related to living independently and returning to work or school.

Last year, we helped 1600 individuals regain skills and learn new techniques to compensate for lost abilities. We would like to take all of the credit for our patient and client successes. But we know their success comes from their determination, our experience and your support.

Your contribution will help:

• Build self-sufficiency by helping individuals return to work.
• Provide resources for new and innovative programming.
• Help people learn adaptive ways to function in the community independently.
• Make available the latest in rehabilitation technology.

What are some contribution options I can consider?

As you consider making a donation, you may want to compare your options. Whether your plan includes a gift today or provides for future funding, you can be assured that it will be helping our programs and those we serve. Here are some things to consider if:

You have plenty of assets now and want to see our gift work - consider outright gifts such as cash, stocks or real estate.

You want to make a gift, but need all of your assets now – consider gifts by will or life insurance.

Your want to make a gift but need the income or use of your assets – consider establishing a charitable remainder trust, charitable gift annuity or a retained life estate.

You want to make a gift no, but want to keep something for your children – consider a charitable lead trust in the form of cash, investments or business interests.
